Campaigners are staging a peaceful protest at the Wytch Farm oil site on Bank Holiday Monday (May1) and calling for Perenco’s licences to be withdrawn.
The site is the biggest onshore oil production site in Europe, but Perenco was heavily criticised after an oil spill into Poole Harbour in March.
Groups from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP), and across Dorset will stage a peaceful, family-friendly protest at Wytch Farm Oil Production Site.
The event will start at Norden Park & Ride / Swanage Railway (BH20 5DW) at 9.45am. They will walk along the lane towards Wytch Farm and protestors plan to maintain a presence at the production site gate for 2 hours.
In addition campaigners have mounted a petition, calling for the licences at the site to be terminated: https://www.change.org/p/end-oil-production-at-wytch-farm-dorset
